PEST
CONTROLLER OF THE YEAR 2000 AWARDS
The annual DATAS
Pest Controller of the Year Awards are now a major event in the pest control year.
Independent judges select winners on the basis of innovation, inspiration or
that something special that makes the entry stand-out from all the others. The
competition has three categories; public sector, private sector and individual
operative. We are fortunate that three
of the major businesses in the pest control industry - Russell, Sorex and Bell
Laboratories each sponsor a category award. From the three category
winners the overall DATAS Pest Controller of the Year is selected. The judges
can, at their discretion give a special award (sponsored by DATAS) to an
entrant who has shown commitment and initiative.
Year 2000 category winners were Sgt. Ray Jones of
Joint Services Health Unit Cyprus, Aberpest of
Aberdeen, and Peterborough City Council. Ray Jones was awarded the title of DATAS
Professional Pest Controller of 2000. The winners were presented with
their awards by Malcolm Moss MP for North East Cambridgeshire, at a ceremony
held at the DATAS training Centre.
