ASBESTOS TRAINING

You are no doubt aware of that on May 21st 2004 regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations come into force. This requires asbestos in work places to be identified, assessed and managed. DATAS provides training to assist duty holders and others to comply with the law.

Asbestos training currently available includes:

TRAINING IN ASBESTOS SURVEYING TECHNIQUES.

BOHS P402 Buildings Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos

MDHS 100 is a recent publication by the Health and Safety Executive. This document details the procedures for surveying premises for the presence of asbestos-containing material. The document sets out, what is and who can undertake an asbestos survey. This is the only course mentioned in MDHS 100 and is offered by DATAS to any person who may be involved in asbestos surveys or managing asbestos in buildings.

TRAINING IN ASBESTOS MANAGEMENT.

BOHS P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings

If you are responsible for overseeing licensable and/or non-licensable asbestos work this three day course  is a must. It provides the student with the practical knowledge and skills to be able to oversee maintenance and other non-licensable asbestos work.

DATAS  have launched the latest version of ASSET 2000 , the computer software system that records asbestos survey details required by the Control of Asbestos at Work regulations and MDSH 100.

THE CONTROL OF ASBESTOS AT WORK.

Do your records comply with the Law?

By law, under the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations and associated Codes of Practice, any employer must now record and retain worker exposure to asbestos dust and the measures taken to reduce hazards of over exposure.

The DATAS Register System greatly simplifies the recording of this information. It has been developed by a team experienced in asbestos management and control in consultation with the Health & Safety Executive, representatives of the asbestos industry, insurers and trade unions.

For those employers that would prefer to computerise worker asbestos exposure, we have developed CAWRECT 2000 software.
